Two Pearson BTECs at Level 1 and Level 2, worth up to two GCSEs. There is no exam — learners are assessed on the work they complete in class.
Give more young people the opportunity to develop, achieve and prepare for what comes next with flexible vocational qualifications in Personal Growth and Wellbeing and WorkSkills.
Sweet helps schools create meaningful pathways that can support inclusion, personal development and wellbeing, preparation for adulthood, careers and employability.
Both run at Level 1 and Level 2, in sizes from a single unit up to two GCSEs, so schools can build provision around the learner rather than expecting every learner to fit the same pathway.
And we don’t stop at providing the qualification. Every Sweet centre is supported by our dedicated IQA team, tailored training, practical resources and ongoing guidance throughout delivery.
Inclusive curriculum. Meaningful qualifications. Support that makes delivery work.
Inclusion is about more than where a young person learns. It is also about what they can access, achieve and prepare for when they get there.
As schools respond to a changing SEND and inclusion landscape, curriculum, personal development, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood all matter.
That creates an important question: does your curriculum give different learners meaningful opportunities to succeed?
For some young people, a predominantly academic pathway will not provide every opportunity they need to demonstrate their strengths, build confidence or prepare for what comes next.
Sweet qualifications give schools another option: practical, accredited pathways that can sit within a broader and more inclusive curriculum.
Good careers education is not only about choosing a destination. Young people also need opportunities to understand the workplace, develop employability skills and build confidence for their next step.
WorkSkills can complement a school’s wider careers programme and Gatsby-aligned approach by providing practical, accredited learning connected to employment and working life.
For learners who benefit from practical and vocational learning, that can turn careers and employability from something they hear about into something they actively learn and achieve through.
Sweet-supported qualifications are available in different sizes and levels, allowing schools to create pathways around their learners and curriculum.
Depending on the qualification and route selected, learners can work towards smaller accredited outcomes through to qualifications equivalent in size to up to two GCSEs.
That means a pathway can be accessible without lowering ambition. Young people can develop practical knowledge and skills while working towards recognised achievement.
You are not just registering learners for a qualification. You are joining a team that will help you deliver it successfully.
At Sweet Education, support is not an add-on and it does not stop once your centre is set up.
Every Sweet centre has access to a dedicated IQA team who understand the qualifications, understand delivery and are there to support you throughout the journey.
Whether you are delivering Sweet qualifications for the first time or expanding provision across your school, our team works alongside you to make delivery as straightforward, confident and successful as possible.
Your centre is supported by a named IQA, giving you a consistent point of contact with somebody who gets to know your centre, your provision and your delivery.
We do not believe in giving every centre the same generic training package and leaving you to get on with it. Training and support can be shaped around your staff, experience and delivery model.
Questions do not conveniently arrive on training days. Our IQA team remains available throughout delivery to support assessment, evidence, quality assurance and the practical questions that arise.
You are not starting with a qualification specification and a blank sheet of paper. Sweet provides resources and guidance designed to reduce planning burden and support confident delivery.
We don’t want you to feel like another centre on a spreadsheet. You have access to people who understand the qualifications and can help when you need it.
From getting started to assessment and quality assurance, our model is designed to support centres throughout the delivery journey.
What centres in England ask us most often. Each course page answers more.
Both are Pearson BTECs at Level 1 and Level 2, and both run in several sizes. The largest carry GCSE equivalency — up to two GCSEs, graded 9–4 at Level 2 and 3–1 at Level 1. Full tables are on the Personal Growth and Wellbeing and WorkSkills in England pages.
Schools may consider them as part of their wider approach to SEND and inclusive curriculum planning, PSHE and personal development, preparation for adulthood, confidence and independence, wider skills development and curriculum enrichment. In England, the Personal Growth and Wellbeing resources cover the entire PSHE and RSE specifications.
No. They do not replace a school’s statutory responsibilities or SEND provision. They can form part of a broader curriculum offer designed around the needs, strengths and next steps of different learners.
WorkSkills supports the Gatsby benchmarks of Good Career Guidance. It can complement a school’s wider careers programme by providing practical, accredited learning connected to employment and working life.
Both Personal Growth and Wellbeing and WorkSkills are available in England until 2029. The Skills for Life and Skills for Work qualifications that follow them begin first teaching in Wales from September 2027; England is unaffected by that change.
No. Learners are assessed on the workbooks they complete in class, and there is no exam or separate exam preparation for teachers.
