Sweet works in partnership with Pearson to support our qualification offer.
For schools and centres, this is more than a logo. It sits behind a clear approach to delivery, quality assurance and recognised achievement.
Pearson is an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual in England and by Qualifications Wales — which is what makes a BTEC a nationally recognised qualification rather than an in-house certificate.
Both BTECs carry GCSE equivalency — up to two GCSEs, depending on the size you choose — and neither has an exam. Learners are assessed on the workbooks they complete in class.
Centres get the guidance they need to understand the qualification, get started and deliver with confidence.
Practical, engaging resources developed with teachers and learners in mind. Clear, accessible and designed to make delivery straightforward.
No faceless helpdesk or waiting weeks for an answer. Our team prides itself on being accessible, responsive and reliable.
Mainstream school, ALN/SEND, PRU, alternative provision or specialist setting — our team works with you to make delivery work in your context.
Centres stay with Sweet because of the relationships they build with our team and the support they receive throughout delivery.
Pearson is the awarding organisation. Sweet writes and delivers the resources your learners work from.
Two are Pearson BTECs you can run today. The third is the Skills Suite, arriving with Wave 3.
What centres ask us most often about accreditation, assessment and who does what.
Yes. Pearson is the awarding organisation, and learners who complete a Sweet course achieve a fully accredited Pearson BTEC qualification at Level 1 or Level 2. Sweet writes and delivers the resources; Pearson awards the qualification.
It means Pearson has reviewed and approved the Sweet resources for delivering their BTEC qualifications. Endorsement covers the workbooks and supporting materials your learners actually use, so what you teach from is the same thing the qualification is assessed against.
No. Registration, administration and certification are handled for you, so your team does not take on the awarding-body paperwork. Your dedicated Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) at Sweet sets this up with you when you come on board.
No. Learners complete the qualification through the workbooks. There is no exam and no separate exam preparation for teachers.
Your own staff assess the workbooks. Every centre is assigned an Internal Quality Assurer at Sweet who verifies that assessment, and Sweet works directly with Pearson on standards of quality, assessment and verification.
Level 1 and Level 2, across Personal Growth and Wellbeing, WorkSkills and the new Skills for Life and Skills for Work qualifications. Sizes run from a single unit up to a full certificate, and the larger sizes carry GCSE equivalency — up to two GCSEs, depending on the size you choose.
Yes. Booking a training session with one of the IQA team is the first step for a new centre. Sessions are personalised and delivered online.
Certificates are issued by Pearson as the awarding organisation. Sweet handles the registration and certification process on your behalf, through your centre’s IQA.
